What is a Stenotype Keyboard?

A stenotype is a specialized chorded keyboard used by stenographers for shorthand use. Many stenographers use it for court reporting or captioning.

The stenotype keyboard does not contain all the letters of the English alphabet, letter combinations are substituted for the missing letters.
