Samsung has announced that it will soon discontinue the Samsung News service.
This means the Samsung News app, widget, and dedicated media page on the leftmost home screen of Galaxy phones and tablets will cease to exist very soon. It offers latest news, sports scores, stock updates, and more.
The company posted a discontinuation notice within the Samsung News app in India and South Korea. According to the notice, Samsung News will shut down on December 21, 2026, at 00:00 UTC.
It is highly likely that the service will also be discontinued in other markets.

My phone has a different setup where the main system still shows articles after the specific app is removed. This changes the entire experience for me.
