How to Give a User Permission to Edit Brand Identity in HubSpot

If you’re trying to allow a team member to edit your company’s Brand Identity settings in HubSpot but they see a message saying they don’t have permission, the issue is usually tied to account-level permissions.

HubSpot restricts editing brand identity because those settings affect AI content generation, brand voice, and visual branding across your entire portal. Only users with the proper account access can modify them.

Step-by-Step: Give a User Access to Edit Brand Identity

  1. Log in to HubSpot with an admin account.
  2. Click the Settings icon (⚙️) in the top right corner.
  3. In the left sidebar, go to:

Users & Teams

  1. Locate the user you want to update and click their name.
  2. Open the Access tab in their permissions panel.
  3. In the left permissions menu navigate to:

Account → User & account access

  1. Turn ON the permission:

HubSpot places Brand Identity controls under Account Defaults, not under marketing or content permissions.
