Apple is gearing up for a Mac-focused product launch by the end of the month, with a potential announcement of a refreshed 24-inch iMac, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The current 24-inch iMac, launched in April 2021, is the only one still equipped with the M1 chip. Gurman suggests the new iMac might feature the M3 chip, skipping the M2. Shortages in Apple retail stores for certain Mac models indicate a forthcoming development, possibly tied to these machines. Gurman expects the announcement on October 30 or 31, with minor improvements expected, mainly in the form of new processors. Future MacBook Air models with M3 chips are anticipated in early 2024, and a larger “pro” version of the iMac with a 32-inch display and a new design is projected for late 2024 or 2025. Mac redesigns may include touchscreens in the future.
